Who is responsible
Opolo Empowerment runs this platform and decides what personal information it collects and why. You can reach us at the address at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, organisation and a password (stored only in scrambled form).
- Training records: the courses and classes you join, when you attend live sessions, what you submit, your assessment results and any certificate issued to you.
- Messages: support cases, feedback and notifications sent through the platform.
- Technical information: sign-in times, the device and network address used, and a record of important actions on the platform, kept so that accounts and results can be protected and disputes settled.
Why we use it
- To approve your registration, place you in classes and run the training you asked for.
- To record attendance and results fairly, and to issue certificates that others can verify.
- To keep the platform secure and to investigate problems.
- To contact you about your classes, deadlines and account.
Who can see it
Administrators can see account and training records. Your instructors can see the details and progress of students in their classes. Other students cannot see your personal details. A certificate's public verification page shows only the holder's name, the course and whether the certificate is valid.
Services we rely on
The platform uses outside services to work, for example video conferencing for live classes and email delivery for notices. They receive only what they need to provide that service.
How long we keep it
Results and certificates are kept so that credentials can be verified in the future. Some records, such as read notifications, uploaded import files and the network addresses in the activity log, are removed automatically after a set time. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we remove or anonymise it unless we need to keep a record of a result or certificate that others rely on.
Your choices
You can see and update your details on your profile page. You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete or anonymise it, by writing to us. We will tell you if there is something we are required to keep.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored in scrambled form. Administrator accounts must use two-factor sign-in, and important actions are written to a tamper-evident activity log. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong, unique password and tell us at once if you think your account has been used by someone else.
Changes
We may update this page when the platform changes. The date of the latest review will be shown here once it has been approved.
